Brighton has several local radio stations run especially for residents of the city. Heart FM and BBC Radio Sussex are local branches of bigger nationwide radio stations, whereas Juice 107.2 , for example, is an individual radio station that is made in Brighton and broadcasts to the city and surrounding areas.Other stations, such as Brighton and Hove Community Radio, Radio Free Brighton, and RadioReverb, are smaller and community run.
Radio Reverb is run entirely by volunteers, and does not have any adverts.
Juice 107.2 was first on air in 1997. It currently broadcasts live from North Street in Brighton.
Radio Free Brighton broadcasts music alongside news and discussions about local, national and international issues. It is certainly diverse: for example on Thursdays lunchtimes the programme is broadcast entirely in Spanish to represent the Spanish speaking community of Brighton and Hove.
